Haven't seen much traffic for awhile, so let me see if I can stimulate some interest.
I'm looking for tools to manage and track a team of engineers. I'm looking for something lightweight and collaborative and hopefully not too expensive. What I really want is something that allows the engineers to define their own tasks and milestones and track against them with relatively little oversight necessary for me.
Has anyone come across any reasonable tools? I've tried both Niku and Microsoft Project... both are expensive and rather heavyweight, aren't very agile, and not very self-managing (nb: i haven't tried project server)

Sun, April 9, 2006 - 7:28 PMTake a look at VersionOne. Really nice. Story driven. Working well at reunion.com with a team of about 30. -

Sat, October 20, 2007 - 6:26 AMHave you heard of Mingle from ThoughtWorks? I dunno if it's very good but it will be agile. They were about to launch it a few months ago.
studios.thoughtworks.com/mingl...igence
But I also have used VersionOne, it worked just fine.
actual physcial story cards work well too, stuck on a big piece of wall ;) -
